Design your space
Bring a residential or commercial property, whether you are starting with an empty space or rethinking an existing interior. Describe the location, approximate area, current condition and the way you want to use it. These details help establish what the project needs.
Bring an idea or a story
You can also begin with a specific idea: a personal memory, a story, an atmosphere or a piece of art. The conversation explores how that idea could inform a space or a bespoke design concept. You do not need a finished brief to start.
From conversation to a clear brief
First, share your priorities, references and practical constraints. The next step is to agree the scope: what needs designing, what information is available, the intended budget and timing, and the deliverables required. Fees and the next steps are discussed for the individual project.
What to prepare
Useful starting materials include a floor plan, dimensions, photographs of the existing space and a few references showing what draws your attention. Mention any objects you want to keep and how the space needs to work day to day.
Design and execution
Design services and any on-site implementation arrangements are discussed separately. Contractor involvement, site coordination and procurement responsibilities need to be agreed for your location and project before work begins.
